While turning the key to my 2015 VW Jetta ignition, the key snapped in half! The car did turn on, but the key was in two pieces. I took the key to the Bay Ridge Volkswagen Service & Parts and I was told I would have to pay $155 and wait 2 weeks for a replacement key. After 1 week, I received the replacement key -- however, the key does not start the ignition. When I turn this replacement key, the error message "NO KEY" appears. When I returned to Bay Ridge Volkswagen Service & Parts, I ask for them to fix this non-functioning replacement key. However, the Bay Ridge Volkswagen Service & Parts representative tells me the $155 key is just the mechanical key and it will not turn on the vehicle. The Bay Ridge Volkswagen Service & Parts representative continues that in order for the key to actually turn on the VW Jetta so I can drive it, I will need to pay another $175 for the programming of the the key. For the first time, I learn the replacement key is actually $325, not the $155. I ask why the Bay Ridge Volkswagen Service & Parts representative, "Why would I want a key that does not turn on the vehicle?" Now I am referred to the manager (no name tag) who immediately has no interest in listening to my situation or my question. I ask for a refund of the $155 non-functioning key. The manager tells me no refund is possible and to pay another $175 in order for the key to the car to be usable. I feel ripped off. Avoid Bay Ridge Volkswagen Service & Parts--they cheat and disrespect their customers.
I'm very disappointed with the level of service I received from the service department of Bay Ridge VW. First, I have purchased two vehicles from Bay Ridge VW in the past. I would have purchased a third but we could not agree on price so, I bought the vehicle from another VW dealer. The issue is with my current 2020 VW Jetta. I noticed a little more than a month ago that I could not make any phone calls because the microphone in the car was not working at all. Then noticed a Car-net activity light that should be green was now off. The SOS button to communicate emergencies was not working as well. The final thing that was wrong was when daylight savings time ended I could not change the clock because the vehicle states there is no GPS signal. I proceeded to do some research, I discovered that a faulty (Car-net module) is most likely the cause of these four issues. I proceeded to go on Bay Ridge VW’s website to schedule a service appointment. While doing so I noticed a recall to fix a ECM issue, I decided I might as well have that done while I am there. I made the appointment for 11/15/21 @ 11am. A few days before the appointment I received a call to confirm. I was told by the woman it would be an all day appointment but I would be able to pick up my vehicle at the end of the day and if parts had to be ordered I would need to bring the vehicle back to have them installed. That was fine by me, as I needed the car to travel to work the next day. On 11/15/21 I brought the vehicle in for service. When I spoke with the service advisor & explained the issues I was having I was told he could not promise I would have the vehicle back the same day. I stressed I needed the vehicle to travel to work the next day. With little to no care I was told to schedule a new appointment with a courtesy vehicle. Left with no choice, I requested to have my vehicle back, I went home and scheduled a new appointment for 11/18/21 but, this time with a courtesy vehicle. On 11/16/21 I received a voicemail saying the courtesy vehicle will have to be removed from my appointment but, I could still bring my vehicle in at the scheduled time. I called back, only to be told that there is an issue with their web system not knowing how many courtesy vehicles they have. I told the woman about my prior experience and asked to speak to a manager to resolve the runaround I have been experiencing. I was transferred to a service manager, no one picked up, so I left a voicemail. I still have not heard back from the service manager. My wife mostly uses this vehicle because of the SOS safety feature. It gives me great peace of mind knowing if an accident occurs and airbags deploy someone will call to check on her. Not having this safety feature currently working gives me cause for concern. I lost a day of work, to come in on the 15th only to be given the runaround. Not one person I have dealt with has taken ownership of the issue. The service advisor I dealt with on Monday should have apologized for the miscommunication and, walked me over to someone and had them schedule a new appointment with a courtesy vehicle. It would have been better if the people I dealt with cared more about the customers time and experience at the service department. By writing this, I would hope someone in management would contact me, so this issue can be addressed and resolved. I will update this review if anything changes.
Save yourself much aggravation & go to another VW dealer. Bay Ridge Volkswagen is the kind of place that gives car salesmen a bad name. Terrible experience. You will get much better deals at Staten Island Volkswagen or in NJ which is hard for me to say being born in Bay Ridge.
The most unprofessional sales team I've ever witnessed. Do yourself a favor & go to a different Volkswagen dealer. They are terrible. Do yourself a favor & go elsewhere. honesty & treating the customer well is not a priority. Now understand the company Volkswagon has excellent customer service. The individual dealerships, very different story. Bayridge Volkswagen has got to be the rudest most unprofessional dealership I have ever dealt with.Mind you Bayridge VW also owns Bayridge Honda, Mazda, Hyundai. the whole strip on 4th Ave. They will try & take advantage of you to make the most commission possible. They want to move what they have too much of on the lot rather than what you went there for. Now I've leased multiple cars from them over the years but it was through a broker as I did not have time to deal with the sales staff until the past month through email & today in person as the lease I was turning in, to the exact place it was leased from refused to take the car back. This was never a problem because I had previously leased from one of the dealers on 4th ave through the broker. The car was inspected the day before & was clean & in perfect shape. Now because I didn't make another purchase from them they wanted to run me around. I came from another boro. I also have a lung disease so getting there was not at all convenient & I had friends with me to help get me back so the lease manager said you need to make an appointment. You have to come back. I told him the lease was due to be back today. I never needed an appointment in the past. He said they had no room on the lot for another car. Mind you he could have used any of the lots on 4th Ave they own but he refused to take the car back. We couldn't believe they wouldn't take the car back. I told him I would not be leasing with them again & I was going to review them for being so rude. He did not care how inconvenient it was for us to go back or I would have to keep the car past the due lease date or I would have to continue making payments & keeping the car insured. They simply didn't want another used car to sell even though it came from them. When I told him I was going to write an unfavorable review he actually said, "You want to do that ? See if I give you another appointment to return the car & he walked away ! This guy was completely unprofessional. I decided to call Volkswagon directly to let them know what was going on. Bryan from the Volkswagen headquarters was shocked. He couldn't believe it. He knew I was a customer for years. Never late on a payment. He couldn't force them to take the car & he did say many of the sales team hopped from different dealerships & did not reflect VW. He called the VW dealership on Staten Island & told them the car was inspected the prior day with a perfect rating. Very clean & low miles. They were very happy to take the car. Bryan couldn't understand why Bayridge VW wouldn't take the car especially since the dealerships have a shortage of cars now due to the pandemic.I can see why. They like to get rid of cars but they don't want to have to move a used car, even if it came from them without trying to force you to get another car from them. If you are looking for a Volkswagen, Honda, Mazda or Hyundai do yourself a favor & stay away from 4th ave Bay Ridge dealerships. Especially the VW dealership. I won't be going back there ever. The friends who made time to help me out & get there certainly will never consider going there & they certainly won't be telling their friends to go there. We were blown away by the rude & unprofessional behavior. When I did tell them what I wanted specifically I let them know my credit score which is very high. I let them know what i wanted, how much I wanted to put down & what I wanted to pay a month. I asked them to send me links & quotes. I said I would pick which I liked & purchase it online & have it delivered. Should be what a salesman wants to hear. A slam dunk. Instant sale. Instead of sending what I asked, they didn't even acknowledge what I asked & gave me the crooked, slimy salesman line of "Just come on down to the lot. We're practically giving cars away because we have a quota to meet" Yeah right !!! These guys were rude & priced much higher than other dealerships. I would give less than 1 star if possible.
I am a first time buyer at Bay Ridge Volkswagen, and I dealt with the most courteous and knowledgeable sales personnel Jacob Ledesma, and David Eric Gokhshtein. They walked me through all of the steps in the paper work which was the cherry on top of the deal that I got on my Volkswagen Jetta. These two gentlemen went over and above explaining every detail regarding the leasing of my car. Thank you, Kathy Pukas
Gali made the leasing of our 2018 Atlas a breeze. Very knowledgable and friendly and it seemed like she genuinely cared about getting us into the right car.
Po Mui made our car buying experience very pleasant. He was very kind, patient and helpful. We will definitely go back to Bay Ridge Volkswagon for our next car and hope deal with Po again.
I stopped buy to ask for a quote and explained that my current dealer is trying to get a hold of a car for me and I would like to have plan B in case he can't get one. The way the sales rep treated me was outright puzzling. I was pretty much kicked out of the dealership with phrases like: - I'm offering you a car for free now, are you taking? - Quote for a second car? One at a time, Auf Wiedersehen! - This is an expensive car here! - My business is to sell cars here. I can't put all the cars you want on the lot. At some point I ended-up asking if I'm treated like this because they think I can't afford it. Next day my current dealer called me and said that he couldn't get a hold of the car I was looking forand said I should try other dealers. If Bay Ridge VW bothered to treat me with decency they could have my business the next day.. Instead, I will never step in there again.. In a fast paced city they might be right prioritizing fast money in the short-term to building a long-term relationship with the customer. I will just stay away. I am not mentioning the sales rep name because the conversation was overhead by other employee(s) yet no action was taken. I'm assuming it's an institutional problem with the organization rather than the problem with an individual employee.
My 2015 VW Passat SEL has 16,870 miles, in January 2018 I took the car in for service and Jerry Suarez assisted me. I returned again in April 2018 and was again assisted by Jerry Suarez. On both visits I am very satisfied with the work done and the manner which Jerry delivered the service. He kept me informed while waiting and just made the overall service experience above an beyond what I have received in the pass. I must say that I took my 2015 VM Passat to the other location where Jerry worked and I had the same satisfied experience. Kodos to Jerry for a consistent great service! Have a blessed day!
Great dealership with experience salesman. Thanks to Eddie my wife now have the car of her dreams. I would recommend this dealership to any of my friends.
My initial experience with David cascaded me into leasing 3 vehicles (wife, son and myself) plus recommending two additional family members which agreed with me about his customer service skills and his knowledge about Volkswagen. His manage Jorge also very attentive and follow through with all of my family request.
We had such a great experience leasing our first car at Bay Ridge Volkswagen with Eihab AlNajjar. From the moment we walked into the showroom, Eihab set us at ease with his vast knowledge of the brand and cars in general and his friendly and professional demeanor. With zero pushiness, he helped steer us toward the 2018 Tiguan SE and didn't pressure us into adding upgrades that we felt were unnecessary for our needs. He listened to us and accompanied us on a test drive, offering insight into the leasing process while highlighting the car's features. When it came time to talk numbers, he made the process quick and easy, working with us and getting us the best deal possible. We couldn't be happier—and will definitely be back in three years once our lease is up!
(NOT RECOMMENDED) Bought a car a year ago kept it SAME condition (personnel use) added exactly 5000 miles into it 2 things: 1-bought the car far more from the real cost 1-when went back for a trad they want me to loose $17000 Is it fair ? If yes then I recommend this place ;)
I just bought a Tiguan from this dealership and Jorge made the process quick and simple. The manager gave me the best discount I could get for the car. After visiting several dealerships, I decided to choose this one because the staff was easy to work with. Every other dealership tried to sell as quick as possible but Jorge let me take my time and wasn't pushy at all. Thank you very much, I'll probably be back after two years to purchase a new vehicle. -Regards, Mr.Lleshi
"0" STARS..... Deceptive sales tactics and typical bait an switch by Jed Kaas, General Sales Manager. He refused to breakout the DMV fees. He also refused to explain the math pertaining to the $250 lease payment he presented, $199 + tax + 625 acquisition fee over 36 months is not $250, obviously they are rounding up for their benefit. Lastly, we agreed on $27,500 for my trade, when they papers were presented it was $27,000. Obnoxious and rude....... Does the owner Robert Sabbagh know what's going on at his dealerships !!!!!!!!!
This is by far the absolute WORST VW dealership / auto repair shop I have ever dealt with in my life. I was the owner of a 2000 VW Jetta with less than 80,000 miles on it. It was in drivable condition until we discovered that there was a dent in the oil pan. I called a towing company to tow it to this location and figured it was safe since this is a "certified" VW Dealership / Auto repair shop. Once the service was completed I picked up my car a few days later, this was after they told me the car could be traded in for $1000. I told them I would hold off for now since they confirmed twice that it was in drivable condition and they tested it before giving me the keys to drive it. I paid for my service and less than 12 hours later the car completely broke down on the highway and almost took my husband's life. I got the car towed to another location where now the engine and alternator are completely not functional. They did not take responsibility for this issue nor did they offer a refund. They are SHADY, COMPLETELY DISORGANIZED and NOT TO BE TRUSTED. An auto shop who functions like this with a lack of business ethics and integrity for one's work should NOT but in business.
I have been leasing cars for the past 20 years. By far this is the best dealership I have ever been to. They are honest , sincere and friendly. No hassle. They will work with you and try to get you the best possible deal. Jed the general manager is outstanding. He will work with you as well and will go the extra mile to get the deal done. Trust me I have been around. It's my second car from bay ride VW in the past 3 years. I'm looking forward for my next car. Regards, Jonathan.
I was continued to be billed 2 months after I returned my lease. The dealer never notified Volkswagon Credit and I had to spend many hours on the phone and digging up old paperwork to prove I returned the car. They will talk you into a car but abandon you afterwards. I was not even able to get a follow up call.
Wow, what do I to got to say? First off, what a phenomenal group of staff you have at Volkswagen Bay Ridge! They made my first time purchasing a car & my driving experience AMAZING!!! Gali Balter, her gorgeous smile, and personality, joking around with us, introduced us to Volkswagen with opening arms made sure I picked the right car & and left with one that very day which was yesterday haha! All I can say I is I LOVE IT!!! Thank you Gali!!! David on the other hand was another terrific guy, made us laugh, joked around with us made sure we were comfortable & what will make my future experience with Volkswagen an excellent one! He & Gali made sure I got the top notch of a deal with what was in my budget range & they always welcomed me to come back at anytime even after I finish my lease if I want to see some other opportunities in the near future if I don't choose to go with Volkswagen again! Well, I'm not much of a writer like I used to be haha, I hope you take care of these two as they work hard for your company, and strive to get Volkswagens name out there & attract potential buyers which without a doubt they do tremendous, and I have trust in them that they do one heck of a job now & in the in the near future!!! Thank you again guys, Gali keep in touch! ;) - Mujo Aksabanovic
From the moment I entered VW the experience of searching and purchasing a new vehicle was wonderful. Ingrid is a great salesperson. She was never pushy just took the time to make this purchase possible and put me into the best car for my budget. David was wonderful at working out the numbers and easing my worries as well as securing that the deal went through smoothly. He actually cared that I as a new customer was happy with the purchase and commitment I was making. At the end it all worked out I am was extremely happy. They both are a wonderfil team!!!
It started with a phone call, followed by a few texts back and forth and shortly thereafter Ingrid e-mailed me answers to all my questions. She did not push the phase every buyer hates to hear - "come on down and we can give you a better deal", instead, she was pleasant, transparent in all her responses and I never felt that I was being cheated out of a great deal. The actual visit to the dealership was even more satisfying - I requested to see a certain car with specific packages and upon arrival - the car was available as promised. 35 minutes later - Ingrid answered a few more questions my father had about all the bells and whistles the car came with, the contracted was signed, deposit taken and we picked up the car the next day. We also met with David who advised us on other options that we should consider when leasing a car and he took his time to answer our questions as well. We did not feel pressured into taking any additional packages. Overall great experience and I would highly recommend a call / visit to this dealership! Ingrid - my dad and I thank you very much - it was a true pleasuring dealing with you!
I walked into the Bay Ridge VW dealership and was greeted by Shawn S. He was very professional and attentive. He was very knowledgeable about the VW products. This is not always true about sales person. I walked with the intention of just obtaining information and walked out with an excellent deal for my trade in and a new VW GTI. I have had many expirence with many different sales person and by far this was the best and pain less I've ever had. If you are military they will take care of you. Go see Shawn he will take care of what you are looking for. He will not try to upsell you a car. The finance manger David G. and sales manager Jorge Q. were very helpful and customer service oriented.
I came to Bay Ridge Volkswagen looking to lease a car. As soon as I walked in I was created by a pleasant atmosphere and attentive salespersons. Once I sat down with Frank, I was not forced or pressured into buying or leasing. I was simply given information on the 2017 Tiguan and he kindly urged me to take my time with my decision. Once I made up my mind to lease the car, I went back and the sales people couldn't have been more help. The initial deal was thorough and took less than an hour- which to me is a huge sign of professionalism and knowledge. Ingrid took care of the delivery of the car. Frankly, I couldn't be more thankful for her. Her communication with me and her dedication was truly mind blowing. She is one of the kindest and honest salespeople I've ever met. She let me know exactly what was happening with the car, exactly how to take care of the insurance, and every little detail. She stayed in touch with me the entire day via texts and calls. When I picked up my car she took the time to explain every little feature, from the fuel tank to Apple car play. I am extremely satisfied with my car and the salespersons made this experience great. I would definitely recommend Bay Ridge Volkswagen to anyone looking to lease or buy a car.
I just leased a Jetta GLI SEL over the weekend and Ingrid was a pleasure to work with. I had been talking to many dealers but Ingrid is the only one that didn't play the classic games normally seen. She was very transparent and worked with me to make sure we were both happy. David also did a good job of explaining everything and was very pleasant to work with. I would not hesitate to come back here in the future if the service level remains the same.
